Rau Ora Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty (HEBOP) are on a mission to provide excellent, compassionate palliative care for everyone in the Eastern Bay of Plenty Region. Hospice is about helping people make the most out of their remaining lives, by providing free palliative care and support to guide people through this last chapter of their lives and to help them to live every moment in whatever way is important to them.
HEBOP are seeking an experienced and visionary people leader to join their team as the Chief Executive Officer. This CEO role has the overall responsibility and accountability for the operations and leadership of HEBOP, with a core focus on achieving their strategic goals. Overall, the CEO role is to champion and promote HEBOP and its palliative care services at every opportunity.
Specifically, the CEO’s responsibilities include:

Providing direction and leadership to achieve HEBOPs vision, mission, and strategic aspiration.

Ensuring all actions align with HEBOP’s values.

Enhancing HEBOPs’ profile and reputation within the community.

Ensuring delivery of quality, patient-focused palliative care services that reflect the needs and cultures of the community.

Ensuring strategic financial management with a focus on long term sustainability.

Constantly seeking new opportunities for service improvement and sourcing/raising funds.

Leading a committed and capable team that can adapt to change and constantly strives for excellence.
What the successful candidate will bring:

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, managing and developing a charity in a provincial region.

Tertiary qualifications in Health and/or Business Administration.

An understanding and respect of Te Ao Māori and our relationship with Te Tiriti O Waitangi.

Competency in Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori.

The ability to build strong working relationships, collaborations, and partnerships within the health sector and/or related services.

Experience in palliative care or a related service is desirable.

Established local networks an advantage.
