Hospice Eastern Bop is looking for a Palliative Medicine Specialist to provide contracted Palliative Medicine Specialist services on site for up to 2 days per week.
Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty is a Te Whatu Ora funded Nurse led specialist Palliative Care service based in Whakatāne.
The Eastern BOP is a large geographical area with a population of 50,000 people half of whom are Māori.
The services we seek are firstly Specialist assessment and management of patients in the community and secondly appropriate clinical leadership and advice to the existing nursing team and family support services.
Additionally the role will provide specialist palliative care advice to external health professionals such as General Practitioners.
 
We recognise that those interested will most likely need to travel from outside the Bay of Plenty region to deliver these services. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.

*A current drivers license is essential.
*The role requires 16 hours of work per week (0.4 FTE) which can be worked at a time that is suitable to the employee and employer.
*Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
