Hospice NZ Standards for Palliative Care
The Hospice NZ Standards for Palliative Care were first released on 13 April 2012.
They were developed to ensure consistency in the quality of service delivered to all people regardless of locality.
The 14 standards provide a comprehensive continuous improvement framework for hospices.
There was a conscious effort to capture the spirit of palliative care in the document, with inclusion of the many faces of New Zealand and whakatoki (Maori sayings) gifted to Hospice New Zealand by Maori elders associated with hospices across the country.
Hospice EBOP participates in the Hospice NZ Standards for Palliative Care review programme.
