Based in Whakatāne

Fridays and Saturdays.

 

Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty is a not-for-profit organisation who helps people to live well when their time is limited. Our mission is to provide excellent, compassionate palliative care for everyone throughout the Eastern Bay of Plenty and we are seeking a part-time (Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm & Saturday 9.00am – 2.00pm) Whakatāne Hospice Shop Day Manager, to help achieve this goal.

Each year Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty needs to fundraise approximately $500,000 to continue providing the necessary care to people living with a life limiting condition and the profits raised through our Hospice Shops are crucial to achieving this. The Whakatāne Hospice Shop Day Manager is an important role in this organisation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Overseeing the day-to-day running of the Whakatane Hospice Shop on Fridays & Saturdays including the operational activity, administration, presentation and delivery of service. Supervising the valued volunteer staff, incoming donations, and outgoing deliveries, whilst maintaining a high level of customer service, cultural awareness and sensitivity. This role is a sole charge position, reporting to the Shops Manager, with the support of a wonderful friendly team.

 

We are looking for someone who

  • Ideally has experience in retail and customer service

  • Ideally have previously coordinated or worked with volunteers 

  • Confident with using a POS system (Vend) and other IT skills

  • Great time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanour

  • Ability to relate well to a range of people including staff, volunteers and customers

  • Excellent verbal and written numeracy and communication skills

  • Is innovative with a flair for visual merchandising.

 

We are looking for a permanent part time Shop Manager to work every Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm & Saturday from 9.00am – 2.00pm.

We are looking for applicants who can ideally start immediately.
