Harcourts Charity Ambrose Tournament

On Saturday, 20 July 2025, Hospice EBOP held its annual Harcourts Charity Ambrose Golf Tournament at the stunning Ōhope Beach Golf Links. Blessed with sunny weather, the tournament was a complete sell-out, with demand so high that teams were even placed on a waitlist.

Harcourts generously sponsored the event, with Wayne Pamment once again donating his time as auctioneer. The day featured 13 auctions with an impressive range of prizes, including getaways to Taupō, Gisborne, and Ōhope. Donations poured in from across the country, showcasing the incredible generosity of businesses and individuals alike.

The Ōhope Beach Golf Links staff and volunteers were instrumental in making the day such a success. Their support and organisation ensured the tournament ran smoothly, and special thanks must go to Lidi, whose dedication and efforts in securing outstanding auction items were a driving force behind the event.

Together, we raised an outstanding $17,770. Notably, $3,250 of this total came from one generous donor who purchased a syringe driver for Hospice EBOP—an essential piece of equipment for patient care.

This tournament not only provided a fantastic day of sport and camaraderie but also raised vital funds towards bridging the shortfall Hospice EBOP faces every year. As government funding does not fully cover the costs of providing specialist palliative care in our community, events like this are crucial in ensuring our services remain accessible to all who need them.
