Volunteer Coordinator

Your Role

We’re just hoping all good things don’t come to an end, and it won’t if we can find the perfect person to step into the golden shoes that Jane has made for the volunteer coordinator role. Jane has built some solid foundations and procedures which will make stepping into this position a breeze for the next person – so what do you think? Could you join us?

We’re looking for someone who has an understanding or even just an interest in palliative care and what is involved. We’re also asking for someone with super amiable people skills and the ability to manage rosters, write newsletters, organise volunteer events, hold training and recruit volunteers. With our volunteer database of nearly 150 people, it’s a tough but rewarding gig and a wonderful way to meet people.

You’ll be liaising with the clinical team to find patient volunteers, and the admin staff to organise volunteers for events and the shops. You’ll also be the point of contact to every one of our volunteers.

You will need;

  • A current NZ driver’s license.

  • Be a NZ resident or Citizen.

  • The role requires 16-24 hours of work per week which can be worked at a time that is suitable to the employee and employer.

  • Experience working with volunteers

Have we sold it to you yet?

Here’s what we can also offer you...

We love families and pets and stories and weekends. If you have a family (this includes pets), you’re almost expected to share stories of your weekends with us since we’ll be your new work family.

We’re a flexible bunch, we’re quite happy to eat vanilla cake if chocolate isn’t available. But this also means, if you want a Thursday off in November to watch your kids in at the end of year show – then we’ll do our best to make this happen. Make notes so you can tell us all about it on Friday. We love a good end of year show.

Our work environment is very supportive full of exceptional huggers and great listeners. The admin team is not only there to support the clinical team and the great work that they do, but to provide emotional support and scones for the days that aren’t as upbeat.
