At Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty, our mission is to provide excellent, compassionate palliative care for everyone throughout the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
We believe that hospice care should be available to anyone who needs it, helping people make the most of every moment, which means different things to different people.
People with life limiting conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, lung failure, motor neurone disease or dementia can benefit from palliative care.
We care for the whole person, not just their physical needs but also their emotional, spiritual, and social needs.
Whilst hospice care is primarily focused on the person who is dying, services are also available for their family and whanau both before and after their loved one has died.
Care is provided in patients' homes or in a place of their choice,
throughout the Eastern Bay of Plenty, in consultation with their GP.
We cover a large area from Matata to Ruatoki to Te Kaha.
Hospice EBOP is a registered Charity and all of our services at
Hospice EBOP are free to our community. The majority of our funding is
provided by Health New Zealand, however we still need to fundraise in our communtiy to need
to fill the gap of approx. $500,000 per year to be able to fully fund our
service. This extra money is achieved through grants, fundraising events,
sponsorships, our local Hospice shops and through generous donations
and bequests from our community.
