Mata Beer Hospice Hops Release

ree

On Saturday 30th August, we gathered at Mata Beer to celebrate the launch of a very special brew – Hospice Hops. Crafted by the team at Mata, this beer is not only a refreshing addition to their line-up, but also a fundraiser with heart: 8% of the proceeds from every sale will be donated to Hospice EBOP, helping us continue to provide essential palliative care in our community.

The evening was filled with warmth, energy, and connection. Around 180–200 people came together to eat, drink, dance, and share in the cause. Local band Hunnybee Wild delivered a moving performance, marking their first time back on stage since the passing of their mum, who had been cared for at hospice. Their music brought both poignancy and joy to the night, creating a moment that resonated deeply with the crowd.

Adding to the excitement were two lively auctions, a raffle, and the sale of Hospice Hops t-shirts. Together, these efforts raised just under $2,500 on the night. While that figure is a fantastic start, the bigger achievement lies in the launch and ongoing promotion of Hospice Hops itself—a fundraiser that will continue long after the glasses have been emptied and the dance floor has cleared.

It was an evening of celebration, remembrance, and community spirit—proof once again that when people come together, great things can be achieved.
